Hadiths from Imam Hosain (as); #9 Freeing his companions on the night of Ahshoora

Hazrat Aba Abdullah (as), on the way to Karbala, after hearing the people of Kufeh had broken their alliance, he continuously reminded his friends and companions, so they would be free to choose.
Imam Sajjad (as):
On the night of Ahshoora, my father gather his companions and friends in the tent and spoke to them:
"Oh my family and my Shia, take this night as an easy paced camel and save yourselves, because it is only me they want and if they kill me they won't think of you. May Allah bless you; save yourselves I have taken your oaths away from you and the commitments you have made with me I overlook. "
When Imam's speach reached here, all of his companions said in unison:
"We swear to God! We won't leave you alone; what would the people say to us? They will say you left your Imam and the important one among you alone with the enemy? I swear by God! we are with you till death."
Imam continued:
"Oh my companions; I will be killed tomorrow and you will all be killed with me and there will be no one left of you tomorrow."
When the companions heard the news of their Shahaadat they said altogether:
"Thank God, who was generous enough to enable us to help you and honored us by being killed in your path."1
