Hadith's from Imam Hosain (as); #2:Giving to protect honor.

When Marvan, the governor of Medina, through the poet Farzadaq (فرزدق) out of Medina, he took refuge with Hazrat Aba Abdullah (as). Imam showed care for him and gave him 400 dinar. Some complained to Imam Hosain (as) and said, "Farzadaq is not a well reputable poet. Why are you helping him?"

Imam (as) responded, "The best of your possessions is that which you protect your own reputation with. When the Prophet of God (s) gave compensation to K'ab ibn Zohair he said, "Pay this man, Abbas ibn Mardas, to close his mouth concerning me."1
