Hadith's from Imam Hosain (as): #177 Defending Vilaayet (Leadership) and Exposing Yazeed (LA)

قال اِمامِ الحُسَيْن ع:

اَيُّهاالميرُ! إنّا أاهْلُ بَيْتِ النُّبُوَّة وَ مَحَلُّ الرَّحْمَةِ وَ بِنَا خَتَمَ.

وَ يَزِيْدُ رَجُلٌ فاسِقٌ شارِبُ خَمرٍقاتِلُ النَّفْسِ المَرَّمَةِ مُعْلِنٌ بِاْفِسْقِ, وَمِثِلي لا يُبايعُ مِثِلَهُ.

وَ لِكِنْ نُصْبِحُ وَ تُصْبِحُونَ وَ تَنْتَظِرُ وَ تَنْظِروُنَ اَيُّنا اَحَقُّ بِالْخِلافَةِ وَالْبَيْعَةِ 1

Imam Hosain (as):


"Oh Ameer! We are the family of the Prophethood (s), and the source of Messengerhood. Our house is the place where angels come and go; a place where the mercy of God is sent down. God has introduced and started Islam from our family and will move everyone forward with our family, till the end. Yazeed is a man who drinks alcohol and who's hand are dirty with the blood of innocent people. He is a person who breaks the commandments of God, and in front everyone's eyes he commits act of corruption and lewdness. Is it legitimate that a person as myself with a bright history and a noble family would give allegiance to such a corrupt man?

You and I have to look at the future, with respect to this, and you will see which one of us is more appropriate for the leadership and authority of the Muslim community and deserving of allegiance.

Hazrat Aba Abduallah (as) said:
فَقَالَ: سُئِلَ اَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِيْنَ ع عَنْ مَعْني قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ع: اِنِّي مُخْلِّفُ فِيْكُمْ اَلثِّقْلَيْنْ: كِتابَ اللهِ, وَ عِتْرَتِي.

مَنِ العِتْرَةَ؟

فَقال: اَنا,وَالحَسَنُ, والحُسَينُ, وَ الْاَئمَّةُ التِّسْعَة مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحُسيْن, تا سِعُهُمْ مَهْدِيُّهُمْ وَ قَائمُهُمْ, لا يُفارِقوُنَ كِتابَ اللهِ وَ لا يُفَا رِقُهُمْ حَتَّى يَرِدُوا عَلى رَسُولِ اللهِ ص حَوْضَهُ1

"One day Imam Ali (as) was asked about the meaning of Hadith Theqalain told by the Prophet of God (s) which is as follows:

"I am leaving two invaluable things amongst you; God's book and my family (عترت)."

Imam Ali (as) was then asked, "What is the meaning of family (عترت)?"

Hazrat Ameerol Mo'meem (as) answered,"Family here means, I, Hasan, Hosain, and 9 leaders from amongst the children of Hosain. The ninth of them is Mehdi and of the Imams. They will not be separated from Quran and Quran will not be separated from them until they meet the Prophet of God (s) beside the fountain of Kothar2."

قَالَ الاِمَام الحُسَيْن ع:

"فَاَخْبِرْنِي يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ هَلْ يَكُوْنُ بَعْدَكَ نَبِيٌّ؟"

فَقَالَ ع:

"لا ,اَنا خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينْ ,لكِنْ يَكُوْنُ بَعْدِي ,اَئمَّةٌ قوّامونَ بِلْقِسْطِ بِعَدَدِ نُقَباءِ بَنِي اِسْرائِيل..."1



"Oh Prophet of God, inform me; will there be a prophet after you?" said Imam Hosain (as).

The Prophet of God (s) said, " I am the last of the of Prophets. However, there will be Leaders after me who will advance justice in society and who will number 12 just as the leaders of Bani Israel..." 2
