Hadiths from Imam Hosain (as): #12 A Reminder to His Assailants of the Spirit of Freedom.

During the red soaked sunset of Aashoora, the bloody body of Imam Hosain (as), the bright light of Vilaayet lied in a trench, covered in blood, taking his last breath. The animal like criminals from Aaleh Abu Sofiyaan attacked Imam's (as) tents,

when all of the sudden Imam (as) heard a babies cry, he got to his knees and spoke:

وَيْحَكُمْ يا شِيْعَةَ آلِ اَبِي سُفْيانَ! إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَكُمْ دِيْنٌ

, وَكُنْتُمْ لا تَخَافُونَ الْمَعادَ

,فَكُو نوا اَحْراراً فِي دُنْيا كُمْ هذِهِ

وَارْجِعُوا اِلي اَحْسابِكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ عَرَباً كَما تَزْعُمُون

"Woe be upon you, oh followers of Abu Sofiyaan! If you don't have religion, and you are not afraid of the Day of Judgement, then live in this world like free men. Come back to yourselves, if you think you are Arab. "

Then Shimr came forward and said:
"Oh son of Fatima! What are you saying?!"

Imam (as) said:

اَنَا الَّذي اُ قاتِلُكُمْ

,وَتُقاتِلُكُمْ ,وَ تُقاتِلُوني ,لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِنَّ جُناحٌ

,فَامْنَعُوا عُتاتَكُمْ وَ طُغاتِكُمْ وَجُهّالَكُمْ

عَنِ التَّعَرُّضِ لِحَرَمِي مادُمْتُ حَيّاً1

"This is me, that is fighting with you, and you are also fighting with me. The women have done nothing; so as long as I am alive call your waring, unjust, and ignorant men from my camp."

Hadiths from Imam Hosain (as): #11 Relieving Muslim Ibn Aqeel's son.

قالَ اِمام الحسين س: اَنْتَ في حِلٍّ مِنْ بَيْعَتي حَسْبُكَ قَتْلُ اَبِيْكَ مُسْلِمٍ خُذْ بِيَدِ اُ مِّكَ وَ اخْرُجْ مِنْ هذِهِ اَلْمَعْرَكَةِ 2


"Oh son of Muslim! I have taken any oaths you have to me away; the shaheed, Muslim, you have given is enough for you. Take your mothers hand and leave this battle field."

Even though the fight had started and a group of friends had already become shaheed, Imam wouldn't stop informing people and providing proof (of their freedom of choice).

Hadiths from Imam Hosain (as): #10 Relieving Mohammad Ibn Bosher

One of the companions of Imam Hosain (as) was Mohammad Ibn Bosher Hazar. Before Ashoora they told him that one of the tribes had taken his son hostage.

He said, "I didn't like that my son would be kidnapped and I would be alive afterwards."

Imam Hosain (as) heard his speach and said:

2رَحِمَكَ الله اَنْتَ في حِلٍّ مِنْ بَيْعَتي فَعْمَلْ في فِكاكِ اِبْنِكَ

"May God show beneficence upon you; I have relieved you of your oath to me. Stand up and go take steps to free your son."

He answered Imam, "May wolves eat me up alive if I were separated from you."

Imam brought a means by which he obtain his son's freedom and said:
فَاَ عْطِ اِبْنَكَ هذِهِ الْاَثْوابَ وَالْبُرُودَ يَسْتَعِيْنُ بِها فِي فِداءِ اَخيهِ

"Give this piece of clothing imprinted with emaan, to your child, so that he may use it in freeing his brother."

The price of the shirt was written as 1000 dinar.
